Lead based paint inspections to avoid ailments

lead based paint inspection
According to the standard rules and regulations, the acceptable percentage of lead in paints is 0.06%. However, this is as per the latest laws. If your house was built before the year 1978, there are high chances of developing lead poisoning, unless you opt for lead based paint inspections from us. Though children are more susceptible to the problem, even adults have been found to be affected by the same.

The following are the sources of lead in your house:

  • Paint – Doors and windows in your house if it is an older one.
  • In the soil around your house – Comes from the paint or leaded gas in vehicles.
  • Dust in your homes – This can be due to the paint or dust carried from outside.
  • Water – If the plumbing fixtures have lead in them.

Affect on children

The presence of lead in paints can be very harmful to children when they eat chips off the surface. It can even be found in soil if the same has been taken off walls. If children may come in contact with this soil or if the dust in your house contains lead particles, it leads to lead poisoning. When toddlers ingest or inhale lead dust, they may develop certain symptoms such as loss of appetite, insomnia, constipation, frequent tiredness, etc. They may be confused with other illnesses and can only be diagnosed by specific tests. These signs are starting points of diseases of the brain, slow growth, hearing issues, etc.

Affect on adults

Inhalation of the dust which contains lead can cause issues in the reproductive organs, high blood pressure, pain in joints and muscles and lack of concentration.

Our company uses special cameras to detect the presence of lead in any buildings. Contact us now for a lead based paint inspection.
